| Wipe All Data on My Android Device |
At some point in time, it’s likely that you’ll want to sell your android device. Before doing so, however, you’ll want to go about erasing your data in a secure way. A simple factory reset may not be enough to completely wipe your personal data, but there are a couple of more secure options that you may wish to consider.
The first method, if your device supports it (which most should do by now) is to encrypt the phone before performing a factory reset. If your handset does have the option to be encrypted, you can find it under settings > security.
Encrypting your handset will of course mean that you need to have a PIN code on the lock screen, however it’s worth doing this anyway if you carry sensitive data on the handset.

Going through the processes described here will pretty much render the data unrecoverable to all, even for some highly skilled forensics. That does also mean that once you hit the proverbial delete button, there’s no getting your files back, so be sure to back them up before hand if there are any that you need to keep.
